The Mosquito

My baby is still smiling...but that mosquito got her good. The other night we were sitting in our tent eating dinner and Kaylie started yelling there was a bug on Amelia's eye, by the time we got there we noticed it was a mosquito. She gets so eaten when we are camping, I recently purchased some skin so tastic off, I will try to start using. The biggest problem with this is Amelia is a PICKER.....she scratches all of her bites and makes them bleed.

Still smiling, my little girl. This photo was taken 2 days after her bite, she could barely open her eye the day before.

May they RIP

Rest in peace Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson, hard to believe you are both gone. Our prayers are with their families and friends on this very sad, sad day!!!!

I've been a BAAAAADDDD blogger...sorry

So it's obvious I have been MIA for a while, just lots of stuff going on, and w/ going camping every weekend, there is not much time to catch up on stuff.
So, I'll start w/ my problem....I went to the surgeon on Monday, turns out (yeah, I know, insert eye roll here) that the radiologist that read my CatScan results, saw an inflammation of my "loop", and therefore suggested I might have an adhesion on my intestine, and then when my PCP got those results that is all the info she passed on to me, "that I did have an adhesion". So once the surgeon reviewed my CatScan video, he saw no adhesion...but is very concerned of such "loop" being inflamed. So now I will go for an Upper GI in a couple weeks....don't forget $3000 deductable to deal with. He thinks it could possibly be an ulcer from where my Dr in 2004 attached my intestine to my then new stomach. The Upper GI could possibly show an ulcer or not, so then he will recommend a Gaestrologist to do a scope, if said ulcer is there, and he will do a biopsy to make sure it is not cancerous,....all providing it's an ulcer. If not, I am back to square one, re-diagnosis?????? Wish me luck. At least the pain has gotten a little less painful, still feel it, but no where near as much as I did that one week.
I have been working on Amelia's room diligently, every night this week I have come home and started immediately working on her room...first I pulled out the curtains and ironed them and hung them, getting all the crib bedding, curtains etc in a bag for the consignment shop, picking up all the stuff laying around. Then yesterday I came home and had purchased a new cubie (some assembly required) for her room, as I needed somewhere to store all the stuff in the changing table, so I put it all in the fabric boxes that get inserted in the cubie and took the changing table, the rocking chair and the playpen out of her room. Then John came home and looked at me like I was crazy w/ the changing table sitting in the middle of the living room, when I told him he had to find room for it, because I loved it so much I couldn't part w/ it yet...as will be the problem w/ her crib. So we then decided it would be best to put this in Amelia's closet....full closet mind you...so we proceeded to empty her closet as I stacked everything up on the changing table and we then wheeled it in. Good thing, now the closet is clean too. So we are now waiting for the bed, that was promised to be delivered on Wednesday (today), but then I got the shipping confirmation, Wednesday not!!!! It shows a delivery date of June 30th thru July 7th....of course we will be on vacation this week. So I called the company and said, your website and my sales rep said it would be about 3 working days for my delivery, they said "oh no, that is for people who are closer to us, not Florida". Well at least it is being delivered to John's work, so there will be someone there to get it for us, and hopefully we can have it delivered to our house so we can assemble it Sunday night when we return home...just going camping for our vacation........
So now everything is ready, just waiting for the big-girl bed. The other day I went to Target to try to find Amelia some sheets to match her comforter, because unbeknownst (is this a word?) to me, there were no sheets w/ her 'bed in a bag', and of course it is discontinued, so I found the cutest 250 thread count sheets, pink w/ white polka dots, on clearance for $10.48, and I got home and they couldn't have matched better. I just loved these sheets, so the next day I went to another Target to get another pair, couldn't beat that price, well I bought 3 more, for the camper, one Queen size, one Full size, one Twin size.....can I give you a word of advice........yeah, don't wash all three sets in one load........How the heck do you know which is which size when they come out?????? Yeah, I have since marked them w/ a sharpie on the tags.
So that's it from here, not a heck of a lot going on. Oh yeah, I did forget to mention, that on Monday night we took the tent off Amelia's bed, and I told her she is not allowed to climb out of her crib, and she said "okay mommy", and guess what........she hasn't. I am requesting continuous praying on this one, as I am so afraid when I get the big girl bed, I will be faced again w/ sleepless nights of Amelia playing and reading and Mommy not sleeping.
Hope all is well, send me some comment love...let me know I haven't lost y'all...........

Check it out

So again I have been a bit absent from my blogging. Turns out the pain I had in my stomach was yet mis-diagnosed, the pain was so bad I called the Dr back and told her she needed to figure something else out. So I had a Cat Scan this am, turns out I have an adhesion from my previous surgeries and it has attached itself to my intestines.............it freaking hurts..... So I have an appointment on Monday to see the surgeon, in the meantime the pain gets worse every day and starts earlier every day. So I called my PCP to see if she could give me some pain meds in the meantime and she said "no, it may complicate your problem".....damn it!!! Did I mention through all this that John's insurance has changed as of June 1st, we now have a $3000 deductable, compared to the $500 it was!!!!!!!!! So not only did I have to pay for the Cat Scan this am, I have no idea what kind of bill surgery will bring. Did I mention I just can't win..????

So enough of the doom, gloom and whining......check out my friend Brandy's blog, she has a cool giveaway going on over there.......Amazon bucks...woohoo..

And now I will show you some photos of Chloe's new favorite thing to do while we are camping, she has 4 legs, but why should she use them??????

OH CRAP!!!!!

Literally.....so I was sitting in my office one day and my mother came in hysterically laughing. I was getting ready to hit the road and she said, "did you see your car?" At that very second a bunch of things went through my mind, none of them of which was target practice. Yes I was victim to a cruel joke, some birds playing target practice and whoever had my car as a target, well they won!!!!!!

The girls thought this was pretty funny too, after the shock wore off

I have been a bit laxed on blogging lately, just in way too much pain. As you know I have been having issues w/ my neck, but I refused to go back to the Dr to "discuss" my options for a $25 co-pay, so I have been dealing w/ the pain and massive daily 2 pm headaches for quite some time now. Well last week I ended up having another problem, by the time 8 pm came I was in so much pain I really wanted to go the ER, but I resisted the urge, I was positive my hernia had popped through, so by Wed I was in so much pain I woke up Thurs to go the Dr, well she was in a conference until that afternoon, so at 2 pm on Thursday I went to the DR. Turns out it was not my hernia, but I have scar tissue from my surgeries and it is attaching itself to some muscles inside me and causing drastic pain, burning if you will, that burns so bad to talk was painful, and forget getting out of the chair, but this was only happening at the end of the day, after all the movement, exertion etc throughout the day. So the Dr gave me something to reduce the inflammation so that the scar tissue will LET GO of the muscle. I still feel the pain, but not the horrible burning. While I was there I asked to "discuss" my MRI and my options, she said I could go to physical therapy once my stomach was doing okay....yeah, totally not worth the $25 I would have had to spend for a follow up. What I didn't tell her was that I had already scheduled an appointment w/ my chiropractor for Friday afternoon, I couldn't take the pain anymore. So on Friday I went on my merry way to the chiropractor and told her all my issues. So she went to work........and man did she have to work for this appt. When she was done, her eyes were as big as saucers and she said, "no wonder you were in pain, I had to adjust all SEVEN of your vertebrae". I said, "OH, that explains it"...so she wants me to come back 3X a week to get it straightened out, I told her there was no way I could afford $90 a week to go to the DR, that we will try to start w/ 2X a week and see where it goes from there. So that is where I stand as of right now.....hopefully I will get some more frequent blogging done soon.

The sentencing.........

So a while back I had told you about the man/boy/A$$ that had done something very bad to our family and was given a guilty verdict by his jury. Well the sentencing was yesterday, he got 300 mos/25 years jail sentence for each count to be served simultaneously, and then 10 years probation w/ a 'S-O' status. If he does anything to violate his probation he goes back to prison for life.

JUSTICE IS SERVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Baby's not a baby anymore!!!

Well as you are all aware Amelia has learned how to swim, now this will take a little more time for perfection, but she's got it pretty much down.

Well, she has decided to potty train herself now too!!! My niece Emilee has been recently potty trained, she and Amelia are approx 6 mos apart, well when Amelia saw the neat undies and pull ups Emilee was wearing she wanted them. One day about a week and 1/2 ago my sister Jamie thought it was time, so she put on big girl pants and did fine all day, when I got her home I tried to follow her routine, once an hour. She got her bath and we ate dinner, literally it was about 1 hour and maybe 4 minutes and I was just walking over to her to get her up and take her potty, and she said, "I have to go poop" (the same term Emilee uses for potty, no matter what), so I stopped washing the dishes and went to get her and it was too late, so I cleaned her up and put on a clean pair of undies, after I put her back on the potty to finish going. One hour later, that is the plan...okay it was 45 minutes and there was a puddle on the floor, it was like Kaylie all over, so I put the diaper back on her......I tried!!! So from them she has occasionally asked to go on the potty, and we have obliged, well last week I was talking to John and all of a sudden I heard someone in the bathroom, it was Amelia, diaper and pants on the floor....GOOD GIRL!!! So night before last I was on the phone arguing w/ Sirius radio and had the cell phone in my other ear trying to call John to get him involved and Kaylie was sitting at the table, and I heard someone going potty, it was Amelia again....she took off her diaper and pants and off she went......GREAT JOB!!!! So yesterday she had on big girl pants all day, and we went to dinner, so I put a pull up on her, and she did great, no accidents. Well if you recall Amelia still has the tent so I was okay w/ potty training her, but getting out of bed at night was not an option. Well last night was the night. At 7:30 this morning I was going to get Kaylie up and Amelia was yelling, I have to go potty!!! So I quick went in her room, and she already had her diaper off, but IT WAS DRY!!!! So I started to move even faster, and put her on the potty.....WOOHOO!!! BIG GIRL!!!! So now when we get home from camping on Sunday, we will be removing the tent and leaving her bed rail down until we can get her a 'big girl bed', wish me luck, I am not ready for more sleepless nights w/ miss I want to play all night long.

My Baby's not a baby anymore!!!!!

She can swim!!!!

So as I have been telling you Amelia really has no fear, none whatsoever. So w/ us camping every weekend, she has been in the pool a lot, and she just loves to swim, w/ her swimmies until this weekend, when Amy took them off her. She did it, she just swam, she is by no means ready to do it on her own, but I have a feeling w/ in the next couple weeks she will be off and swimming. Poor baby was exhausted when she was done and her eyes were so puffy from being under water, she didn't even make the golf cart ride back to the campsite w/out passing out. Stay tuned for more updates on my second little fish.
