I'm spoiled

I've decided I'm spoiled and I LIKE IT!!!! This year Kaylie has decided she wants a real birthday party w/ school kids and everything. For the past few years we have been picking a friend and just going to the movies at Kaylie's request, but this year she wants a party. So Mommy started to do some research.........OH MY GOODNESS!!!! It is expensive to go to those places and have a party, I researched from Chuck E Cheese, Pump It Up all the way to going to the movies w/ a group of people. Forget it, couldn't do it, not right now anyway, so I decided we'd go to the park, I rented the pavillion and will get pizzas and that way she could invite all the kids in her class instead of just chosing 10 or so of them. Well there are 18 kids in her class, I think I have heard from maybe 8 parents, and only 4 can attend and one of them I have to pick up, on the opposite side of town. I am so afraid Kaylie will be disappointed, but so far she seems to be happy when I tell her someone else is coming. How am I spoiled you ask??? Well, I sent in the invitations for her party the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, because I wanted to be sure parents had enough time to prepare, as there was no school the rest of that week, and the following weekend would be her party. So I still up to last night, 9 days after the invitations went home, was getting phone calls from parents saying they "just" got the invitation. What??? Just got the invitation that has been in your child's backpack for over a week?? Wow, now I know some parents are busy, in fact the mom I spoke to last night has 6 kids, so I can understand.....but wow!! See when we get home we have a routine, (homework is done at Grandma's or Auntie Shell's right after school, so it's done by the time I get home) both girls go directly in their rooms and put their shoes away, Kaylie will then empty her backpack, she puts all her daily papers and notes on the counter, gets out her planner and reading folder for me to sign, and then puts away her water bottle and empties her lunch box if she was cold lunch that day. After I sign everything she puts it all back in her backpack for the am. I am so proud, let's face it, I have instilled this behavior in them, I have to, I work full time and Daddy doesn't come home until late, so it's all me. But I am spoiled....because there are many children, that just don't help, and I'm happy to say that mine do!!!! Now remind me of this post in a couple years when I am screaming because Amelia won't do anything!!!!!!
