The Girls Rooms....

Some people have asked me to send photos of the girls rooms, so instead of emailing them I thought I'd post them here for everyone to see, because it's way too hard to email them, it takes forever....so I hope you enjoy. You'll notice in the far left corner of her window is the barbie she got from China

You can see one of the glitter critters in the top left corner of this photo.

Above are photos of Amelia's room, this was Kaylie's room when she came home. I had this room envisioned in my mind for months before I painted it, I hand drew all the ladybugs, bumble bees, butterflies and flowers. My parents and sister were living w/ us just before we got our referral for Kaylie in October 2003. The week they moved out into their house I spent 2 days literally in this room painting everything. The bottom 1/2 of the wall is green the top 1/2 blue, there is a white picket fence w/ a shadow all the way around the entire room, this and the leaves on the tree are the only things stenciled in this room. We then traced the things I drew on to the walls and painted them. Hanging from her ceiling are some glitter critters I had found at a Hallmark Store probably a year or more before I actually painted her room, the are fire flies, bumble bees and butterflies and she has a good luck fairy hanging over her crib. She also has flowers all over her bed and her changing table, and you'll notice in the corner a big flower thing hanging from the ceiling, we brought this home from our trip w/ Amelia....it's a little cluttered, but I just love it.

Above her closet is a sign I had made w/ her name while in China.

Kaylie has a little couch and a tv, in her room and we just got her that little princess fan about a year ago.

Kaylies 'big girl' room was painted in November 05 when we started our wait for Amelia, I did not want her to feel she was being kicked out of her room for the little sister she didn't even want at that time. The bottom 1/2 of her wall has wooden panels on it that are painted yellow w/ a white chair rail all around the room. The tops of her walls are 4 different colors, green, blue, purple and pink w/ stenciled flowers and butterflies on them in the darker of the primary color. She also has fabric butterflies all over each wall, that I found at one of my favorite gift shops in the hospital. These are what the idea of her room were based on. She has little fairies hanging from her ceiling and also a good luck fairy hanging over her bed. Her curtains and comforter are chinese silk. Her room is very cluttered but I could just lay on her bed and stare at the walls forever...I love her room. She has Disney Princess furniture in her room from Rooms to Go Kids.
I have always said if I ever move from this house I would have to take the drywall in their rooms w/ me. I just hope they don't grow out of them anytime soon....I would just cry.

Lorie those rooms are amazing!!! You could hire yourself out as a children's room painter! I'm completely impressed and now ashamed-- I've been meaning to paint circles on Julia's bedroom walls-CIRCLES! If you can do all of that surely I could paint circles!

Denise, I am not sure about the cirlce things, I can draw, paint, color etc,...but don't ask me to paint a straight line...or a cirle for that matter, there'd definately be some tupperware being traced if I had to paint circles....by the way I do love the girls bedding in their rooms.
