The Gourmet Girl Cupcake Disaster

So Kaylie really, really, really wanted the Gourmet Girl Cupcake maker for Christmas, so Mommy, Daddy and Amelia got it for her. We left it at Gramma's house in hopes that Auntie Jamie would someday help Kaylie make them, but it just didn't happen, so one Sunday afternoon when Amelia was sleeping Mommy and Kaylie attacked this thing head on...we were making cupcakes. So I pulled everything out of the box,.......wow, what a bunch of crap delightfully made plastic gourmet girl supplies.

Once I put everything together we started to read the instructions, okay add water, not so hard, but you have to make the cupcakes one at a time in the microwave, not so bad, accept for the one at a time thing, sure hope you are not intending on making cupcakes for your class...

Once we did that we started to make the frosting, well in my head frosting needs to be smooth and a little liquidy, not for the gourmet girl, you see this contraption is really designed to decorate or frost the cupcakes, so you put the frosting in the tube and push the lever and the cupcake goes back and forth underneath and frosts your cupcakes. So we put the first batch of frosting in the machine and it started to drip immediately, so I said quick pull the lever up and down, well that did it, the cupcake went flying and the frosting, let's just say we had a lot of frosting in a lot of places, most of which went flying off the table.........

We then figured out that we should make the frosting a little thicker for this contraption to work correctly.

Notice the frosting dripping all over the place, even after making it a little thicker.

After 4 cupcakes lets just say I put everything back in the box, asked Daddy to put it in the garage in hopes that Kaylie would forget about it and never ask to use it again........but they did taste good.....

And oh yeah, I forgot to mention, when I put everything back in the box I also put the sprinkles back in the box, but was careful to stand them up and close them before hand, but I forgot to tell Daddy to be careful when he took the box. I woke up the next morning to find sprinkles through my laundry room and all over my garage. Good thing it's not the summer, or we'd be covered w/ ants.

Too funny!!! Tell Kaylie she can come make cupcakes at my house any time!!! We like messes and Cullen (my 12 year-old) eats anything! Kieren LOVES to make messes in the kitchen with her big brother.
