I'm sorry to be such a bummer lately, but that is what's going on in my life. We took the girls to the Dr yesterday and turns out they don't have strep...yeah....but they do both have an upper respitory infection, Amelia has yet another ear infection and Kaylie is wheezing again. So Amelia is on this nasty antibiotic, that tastes horrible. We came home yesterday and I made some dinner and she was burning up, so I tried to give her some tylenol, I poured it in the little cup and gave it to her, when I turned around she was drinking it, I went to look back at her and it was all over her high chair and her pj's...so I poured it again and she would not drink it, so I changed her into yet another pair of fleece pj's cause she was freezing, so I couldn't even put her in a cool bath. She then ate a little dinner and whined the entire time, when she was done eating what she ate, she layed in my chair w/ her fleece jamma's and two blankets, so Michele finally got here w/ her meds and some different flavors of tylenol, she got her to take the bubble gum tylenol, but forget the antibiotics, she not only spit them out, but then ended up throwing up all over me, the kitchen floor and her 2nd pair of pj's...so this time it was into the tub she went. I then put on her 3rd pair of pj's for the night. My sister Amy came over and managed to bribe her into taking her medicine. She then spent the rest of the evening, on the floor, in her chair, on my lap, whatever made her happy at the moment...did I mention she had no nap yesterday, this did not help matters. Finally I put her to bed around 8:15 or so, and I went in to check on her at 9pm, she was moaning and whining, poor baby...I did not know what today would bring, but she woke up w/ no fever and feeling a little better, she still wouldn't take her meds for me, so I brought them to my mom's house, my mom got them in her mouth, but then she would not swallow them, so finally my mom got her a cup of water and she swallowed. Kaylie is on the nebulizer before school and before bed unless needed more....I am going broke w/ the Dr's visits, I figured it out, since December I've spent $150 on just the office visits, and they want to see them both back again in 2 weeks.........plus the meds.....Oh, did I mention John just got another pay cut today....yeah life is great!!! At least he still has a job.
So, again sorry to be such a bummer, but such as life right now....

Just keepin' it real Lorie. That's what your blog is for. I'm sorry your babies are sick. I can so relate to the dollars to the doctor. It think between all of us, we spent about $300 on doctor's copays and prescriptions. Yuck. Add Ross' car repair bill of $600 and I spent almost $1000 unexpected dollars. Oh and did I mention that I got a pay cut too? Yuck. But we just cut what we can and be thankful for what we have. It could be so much worse.
Hope Kaylie gets feeling better soon!
Life just really bites sometimes. Hope the girls feel better soon. I feel for you with the Dr. visits! I'm not looking forward to seeing how much the insurance DIDN'T pay for Cullen's trip to Urgent Care! My asthma is driving me crazy right now, but there is no way I can afford a trip to the doctor or anything! Hang in there!!!
Hi Lorie ~
Wow I am sorry that the kids are feeling ill again, i hope that they are both better today!!! Yes, the Dr. visit co-pay are crazy when we have more than one kids - I wish they would do a pay for one and then get one at half price if it is at the same visit ... LOL...
Keep Smiling....
Julie
What is that saying? Whatever doesn't kill us makes us stronger? Yeah, I can relate on all points. Rachel is no longer in the "happy about everything" stage and has entered the "I'm gonna scream bloody murder if you say no" stage. I'm so sorry you had to deal with all this... I'm only online on my days off now, so this is the first I heard... stay strong, girl... call if you need anything!
Thanks to everyone for all your support and kind words....this too shall pass.....and I'm sure come back again........haha.
