Checking in

I haven't blogged much since the New Year, to be honest just trying to get my bearings back. It is very hard to get back to a normal routine after working only 2 1/2 days 2 weeks in a row. I am tired...and trying to stay awake.

I do have a little funny story to tell you, last night at dinner, I had my niece and nephew over, Emilee and Jordan and for some reason all the kids were chanting, well when Amelia was chanting she was so funny, she was sitting in her high chair yelling..."go Miya, go Miya, go Miya"...I love the way she says her name and I think this is the first time I have actually heard her say it.

Other than that, 09 isn't looking any better than 08 so far...my dad is scheduled for surgery next Monday at 7 am. It is actually a correction to the surgery he had early last year, he had hernia surgery about 5 yrs ago, he ended up in the er w/ stomach pain, it was determined that his hernia had popped, so he went in immediately for emergency surgery, well when they got in there it turned out it was not his hernia, but a bowel abstruction, so the Dr had cut him straight down the middle and in the process sliced the mesh from his previous surgery, instead of replacing it, he just sewed it back together when he was done. Well my dad has had an unclosed wound at the bottom of his incision since and at first his original Dr told him he'd just have to 'live w/ it', so he eventually went to see another Dr, and this Dr found out not only does he have a major infection from the incision wound, but it has not closed since his last surgery and was able to put a q-tip approx 6 to 8" inside the wound. He now has to go and have the mesh replaced, the infection cleaned out and hopefully his intestines don't have any issues.

So that's it from here. Hope you all are having a good start to the new year.
