The girls playing w/ the balloons at the end of the night

Yesterday was our annual Chinese New Year party, I was sad that none of our new friends could make it this year, but I am sure they will attend next year. Every year we make a daily event out of our day, it started this year w/ Mommy going to Target to find some leggins for the girls to wear under their dresses, because you know how those tiny tiny Chinese girls like their skirts short or cut way too high and apparently see through too....so I had to adjust the outfits a little. After I got home and got the girls dressed we headed out, we first went to TGI Friday's for lunch and then to the Coconut Point Mall for some walking around and shopping. I started at the Apple store, got a headphone splitter so that when I listen to my IPod Amelia can share. We then headed to the Disney Store and returned an item that Santa brought that did not work...and purchased some new utensils for dinner time. After that we headed to Build A Bear, we had never been to a the Build A Bear store and wow, did we have an adventure, unfortunately we did have the camera for the festivities, but Kaylie has a new friend Daisy and Amelia has a new friend Lovie, they just loved the entire process, it was so much fun for them. I think we may be going back again, but not too often, the girls are both running out of room in their beds, they will not be able to sleep in them soon, just the stuffed animals..

Lovie and Daisy

Then we headed to the party, we usually get there early as I like to watch all the girls walk in to see how cute they look and I helped them set up the craft table. Amelia had decided to take a nap in the car, so John sat outside w/ her, napping himself, and by 4 pm I told him it was time to wake her up................oh boy was this a mistake. For the first hour to hour and 1/2 we were all tortured by Amelia, she wanted no part of anything and insisted on having the balloons off the table, so finally I cut one of the balloons and gave it to her, and she was a LITTLE happy, but still grunting at all that tried to show her any attention, because at this point she was either screaming, crying or growling at someone. When she finally got happy, we all had a good time, Kaylie and Amelia both enjoyed the craft table, and Kaylie had a blast on the big air slide and bounce house, Amelia tried to climb up the air slide just before dinner was served and they turned them off, and she never went back. It was a very nice event, unfortunately Lillian from China Adoption w/ Love did not make it this year, we missed her tremendously and it seems as though each year the crowds lesson, I am hoping this trend will turn around and our friends will make it next year.

In the meantime Happy Chinese New Year to you all, enjoy your families.
