What seems like forever ago literally, was 5 years ago today, when I was handed one of the most precious gifts I have ever received. Welcome Kaylie Geraldine Meiliyan to your forever family. It was a very chilly day and she came bundled up in a wool snow suit, sound asleep for the first 45 minutes if not longer. I shook her to make her look at me before I took her, because I have heard horror stories of babies waking up from their naps in a strangers arms, but not this one, she looked at me for a mili-second and that was all she wrote. We passed her around between John, Jamie and I for the entire time we were in that little room, I even undressed her because she was sweating and she never budged...oh how I wanted to just wake her up (I tried too)...but she wouldn't, she was sound asleep. We got on the bus and by that time the muscle in my arm couldn't take her little head anymore, so I passed her to Daddy and she awoke. That is where she stayed for the first 3 days, she had to be held, fed, bathed, dressed by her Daddy or she wasn't having it, as much as I wanted to hold her this was okay w/ me, because I had had my first major surgery on September 5th and was still healing from the surgery. By the 3rd day we had had enough of this and Jamie and I used bribery, Jamie had some french fries from Auntie Julie and Uncle Mark's room and that was all it took....she was in love w/ Jamie and Mommy was very soon to follow. It was the day of a lifetime that we will never forget. Most things in my past are a big blur...I have a terrible memory when it comes to just stuff....I can multitask and remember w/ the best of them...but have a terrible long term memory, unless it is work related...sometimes this is a blessing, sometimes a curse. But I remember that day and I am very blessed to have Kaylie in our lives, we love you Princess, Punkin Dunkins, My baby-my darlin, squirt, brat, Kiki, Noodle, Cutie Patootie, Sweetie, Pretty Girl...whatever you want to call her.....WE LOVE YOU!!!! LOVE MOMMY, DADDY AND AMELIA XOXOXOXOXO
