Out of the mouths of babes.............

There has not been a whole lot of activity lately in our family (thank goodness, we could use a break) so I thought I'd post some of my favorite out of the mouths of babes moments....I keep them saved on my computer.
11/27/06 yesterday my sister and her husband put their christmas antenna toppers on their cars and Kaylie said, mommy what are those?? and I told her antenna toppers, and then I said, but mommy doesn't have an antenna on her car so she can't use one....and she turned to me and said, "maybe Santa will bring you one"...
01/30/07 there are these little flowery weeds that grow in our yards, they are kind of cute, white petals w/ yellow center, but they are weeds...well Kaylie used to pick them and they'd sit on my counter in a cup until I throw them away a couple days later.....well she doesn't usually walk in the lawn because there are ants etc so she has been asking me to pick them for her and I tell her 'no, they are weeds'...this has been going on for days....well yesterday I asked her if she wanted to pick a flower for her gymnastics teacher...she said "no mommy, they are weeds!!"....I bust out laughing............guess she really does listen when I talk.
One more, ......I was reading There's always room for one more, one day and she had a post about asking the kids what kind of mommy she is.........so I was scared to death, but thought this would be a good excercise to perform w/ Kaylie to know what she really thought and if I was being to rough on her at times. So I sat at the dinner table, scared to death, yes really, had no idea what would come out of her mouth...and we had already had a little disagreement before dinner......so finally I popped the question........and she said...."you're a fun mommy, mommy".......oh my....I was so happy. If you have the nerve, ask your kids, if anything you'll know how they really feel. Hopefully this doesn't change, but I figured at age 5 1/2 she would be honest if anything. Phew.....dodged that bullet straight to the heart.
I have more stories, but will save them for another day. Tell me about your out of the mouths of babes stories.

Oh dear! Using me as an example! I'm glad you got such a great answer. While the answer from Jenna a month of two ago was a fun mommy, a couple of nights ago I was kinda mean. I have the origami to prove it. (Check my latest blog post!LOL)

Denise, I saw that....she is so funny, I was just happy to not get the mean mommy response that night, I really was scared to ask, but I had to know...I'm not always the calmest of people and sometimes my poor girls get the brunt...so I am trying to be better, and it helped to not hear that I was mean. And by the way, how dare you ask your kids to do chores....haha, my poor almost 6 yr old has to pick up after her 2 yr old sister..I am sure my "mean mommy" origami is right around the corner.
